Eric Asakawa is an emerging Portland-based singer. He has been praised for his versatile, expressionate voice and commanding stage presence. Equally at home with both contemporary and classical music, he has been cast in musicals, operas, and oratorio. Studying under Les Green, he anticipates a 2015 graduation from Pacific University with a degree in Music with a concentration in Vocal Performance.

 

In 2014, he studied at the American Institute for Musical Studies in Graz, Austria. Classical credits include Contino Belfiore in Mozart's La Finta Giardiniera, the tenor solo in Mozart's Requiem in D Minor, and Gounod's Messe Solennelle de Sainte-Cecilie. Theater credits include Chip Tolentino in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Ariel in The Tempest, and Tumblebrutus in Cats. He holds a position as a staff singer at Portland Symphonic Choir and Valley Community Presbyterian Church.
